The Police hierarchy in Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area has declared Chairman of the Local Government Council, Hon. James A. James, as a security-friendly chairman.
He made the declaration today in Opobo Town, when the Chairman handed over a brand new motorcycle to the mobile police unit in the area.
James said that, considering the prevailing security situation in the area, the mobile police in the area, code-named Asawana, have been given a motorcycle to patrol and maintain peace, while they await the delivery of another security patrol vehicle.
Receiving the motorcycle on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, Rilwani Lukman Disu, and Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, the Unit Commander of the mobile police unit in the area, SP Godwin Okpoi, who expressed gratitude to the council chairman for treating security issues with the required attention, prayed for him to continue to attain greater heights.
The motorcycle was immediately deployed to the Nkoro section of the unit for patrol.
