Hon. James.

The Chairman of Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area, Hon. James A. James has stated that his government will continue to prioritise projects and programmes that inspire the lives of the people of the area, strengthen institutions, and promote socio-economic development, as well as consolidate peace and unity across the local government area.

He stated this in Opobo Town during a ceremony to inaugurate newly constructed internal road networks in the Council’s headquarters and the presentation of cars to councillors, council Secretary, and some principal officers of the council on Thursday.

The council boss said the road network project and the provision of cars is a deliberate investment geared towards the effective functioning of the local government and the delivery of quality service to the people.

He stated that the newly constructed road network has restored dignity to the administrative headquarters, while the provision of official vehicles is designed to continue strengthening administrative efficiency and grassroots engagements, and urged the officials with the vehicles to interact more with the people, respond to community needs, and quickly discharge their statutory responsibilities.

Hon. James used the occasion to thank the people of Opobo/Nkoro for their support, describing it as what has been the driving force motivating the administration to stand strong.

Commending the Chairman for the laudable programmes and humble achievements, Engr. Dandeson Diri, Gladys Daniel Legg-Jack, and Hon. Peter S. Idatoru prayed and encouraged the chairman to continue to embark on more projects for the good of the people.

As part of the first year anniversary celebrations, a number of projects across the local government area have been earmarked for commissioning.
