The newly appointed Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transport, Dr. Vera Ndidi Sam-Dike, has directed Heads of Departments (HODs) to develop practical and measurable targets to be achieved within her first 100 days in office.

This, she said, is part of efforts to improve service delivery and enhance the Ministry’s operational efficiency.

She gave the directive during a strategic meeting with the Heads of Departments held in her office today.

Addressing the management team, the Permanent Secretary emphasized the importance of teamwork, accountability, and strategic planning in achieving the Ministry’s mandate.

She instructed each Head of Department to submit a comprehensive proposal outlining the key objectives their department intends to accomplish within the 100-day period, along with the challenges they anticipate and recommendations for addressing them.

According to her, identifying departmental priorities and constraints will enable the Ministry to develop realistic strategies that will improve productivity and ensure the effective implementation of government policies and programmes in the transport sector.

Dr. Sam-Dike assured the Heads of Departments of her commitment to fostering an inclusive and results-driven work environment anchored on transparency, professionalism, and collaboration.

She further urged all departmental heads to embrace the initiative with dedication and sincerity, stressing that the collective efforts of every department would be instrumental in repositioning the Ministry to deliver efficient, safe, and sustainable transportation services to the people.

Speaking on behalf of the management team, the Director of Administration, Aaron Mary Ebere, expressed their readiness to support the leadership of the new Permanent Secretary and to work collectively towards achieving the Ministry’s goals and objectives.
