The Head of Service, Dr. Inyingi S. I. Brown, delivering her closing remarks at the event.

Permanent Secretaries in the Rivers State Public Service have completed a three-day capacity building programme, capped by their induction into the Chartered Institute of Directors, Nigeria (CIoD).

Speaking at the closing ceremony, the Head of Service, Rivers State, Dr. Inyingi S. I. Brown, urged the newly inducted Permanent Secretaries to see themselves as rebranded ambassadors of change officials now equipped to drive real transformation in government business.

She told them that the true measure of their training would not be certificates on the wall, but impact felt in the everyday lives of the people they serve.

Dr. Brown also called on the Permanent Secretaries to let their improved performance reflect the confidence the State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has placed in them through the training, noting that strong results now would pave the way for more capacity building opportunities in the future.

Earlier, the Branch Chairman and Head of the South-South and South-East Zone of the Chartered Institute of Directors, Nigeria, Dr. Chamberlain Peterside, commended the Rivers State Government for investing in the development of its top civil servants.

He charged the Permanent Secretaries to translate the training into tangible, deliverable change, the kind that touches ordinary lives and, in turn, powers the broader transformation agenda of the state.

The high point of the event was the presentation of certificates to the Permanent Secretaries, jointly handed over by Dr. Peterside and the Head of Service, marking the formal close of the training.
