Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area (EMOLGA), Hon. Chidi Lloyd, has commended the Deputy Minority Whip and Member representing Emohua State Constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Justina Emeji, for her constituency development initiatives.
Speaking recently at the official commissioning of the Okporowo-Ogbakiri Community Hall, constructed and furnished by Hon. Emeji, the Chairman described Hon. Emeji as a good ambassador of the people of EMOLGA.
He said the Community Town Hall, also known as Obiri Echonwere, in Okporowo-Ogbakiri, is one of the constituency development projects undertaken by the lawmaker.
In his welcome address and opening remarks as Chairman of the ceremony, Lloyd commended the leadership of the Rivers State House of Assembly for creating an enabling environment and supporting lawmakers in attracting development projects to their respective constituencies.
He described the various projects undertaken by Hon. Emeji across Emohua Local Government Area as evidence of effective representation, adding that the Okporowo-Ogbakiri Community Hall represents peace, social responsibility and the fulfilment of a promise to the community.
The Council’s Chairman assured residents of the local government of his administration’s continued support for meaningful development projects, noting that constituency projects undertaken by Hon. Emeji would complement the infrastructure development recorded across the area.
He further commended the lawmaker for providing tangible evidence of her representation through projects, rather than excuses, and stressed the importance of the community hall to the peace, unity and social development of the benefiting community.
In his address, the Special Guest of Honour and Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Martin Chike Amaewhule, commended Hon. Emeji for utilising approved constituency project funds for the development of her constituency.
He also expressed appreciation to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for what he described as his outstanding leadership and continued support for the State Assembly.
The Speaker commended the leadership of the Rainbow Coalition in Emohua Local Government Area for what he described as their loyalty and commitment to the leadership of the FCT Minister.
He said the prevailing peace and unity among leaders and relevant stakeholders in the area would, in his view, strengthen the coalition’s political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Amaewhule also called on residents of Emohua Local Government Area to support the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Rep. O.K. Chinda, and his running mate, Hon. Major Jack, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He also commended the Emohua Local Government Chairman, for what he described as his sterling performance, particularly in infrastructure development.
In her remarks, Hon. Emeji attributed her achievements to the leadership and support of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.
She also commended Rt. Hon. Martin Amaewhule for his leadership and support for members of the State Assembly.
Emeji disclosed that more than seven additional projects being undertaken through her office across Emohua Local Government Area were expected to be completed before the 2027 general elections as part of her constituency development initiative.
According to her, the Okporowo-Ogbakiri Community Hall project was inspired by the dream of her late father to provide a suitable gathering place for members of the community.
She noted that her father had earlier constructed the palace of the Paramount Ruler of Okporowo.
The commissioning ceremony also featured the disbursement of N30 million to 150 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the 14 Wards of Emohua Local Government Area.
Each beneficiary received N200,000, bringing the total financial support to N30,000,000.
