At the site of one of the abandoned projects

The Executive Chairman of Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA), Barr. Shedrack Chukwu Ogbogu, has expressed dissatisfaction over the state of several uncompleted infrastructural projects within the LGA.

The Chairman made his concerns known during a critical meeting held with principal officers of the Local Government and contractors handling various stalled projects across the ONELGA Secretariat and its environs.

Speaking at the meeting, Barr. Ogbogu condemned the poor pace and apparent abandonment of key infrastructural works, noting that the current administration, despite the recent Supreme Court ruling nullifying the previous administration, remains committed to completing all ongoing and abandoned projects.

“Our people deserve better. We must not allow public infrastructure to decay or remain abandoned. We are here to work, and every contractor must live up to their obligation”, he stated.

Following the meeting, the Chairman led an on-the-spot inspection tour of the affected projects within the ONELGA Secretariat, accompanied by some of the contractors.

He noted areas that required urgent attention and emphasized the need for strict adherence to quality standards.

The Chairman issued a 48-hour ultimatum to all contractors handling the identified projects in ONELGA to mobilize back to site immediately, and submit their Bills of Quantity and other relevant project documents.

These steps, he noted, are intended to fast-track project delivery and ensure full accountability in line with his administration’s development blueprint.

Ogbogu also reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to transparent, efficient, and people-focused governance, assuring residents that under his leadership, ONELGA would witness tangible progress and improved public infrastructure.

“We are accountable to the people. This government is here to serve, and serve with integrity, commitment, and a focus on results”, he assured.
