The Rivers State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the growth and development of youths across the state.

Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and Chairman of the Governing Board of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Dr. Dagogo Wokoma, gave the assurance when he received the State Coordinator of the NYSC, Mr. Moses Oleghe, in Port Harcourt today.

Dr. Wokoma described the NYSC as a vital platform for mentoring and shaping young people into responsible leaders of tomorrow.

He reiterated the state government’s continued support for the scheme, in line with the vision of the State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.

Earlier, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr. Oleghe, outlined several ongoing projects being funded by the Rivers State Government.

These include the regular payment of allowances to corps members, provision of a vehicle for the zonal office, construction of a new NYSC Secretariat, and the building of additional hostel facilities at the permanent orientation camp in Nonwa-Gbam, Tai Local Government Area.
