The Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme (RIVCHPP) has reechoed its stance to continue to ensure prompt payment for legitimate services rendered to its enrollees.
RIVCHPP’s position was disclosed during a virtual engagement meeting between the management of the social health insurance agency and medical directors and billing officers of its accredited private healthcare providers yesterday monitored by RIVCHPP’s Information/Public Relations Unit.
In the meeting, the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of RIVCHPP, Dr. Vetty Agala, announced the decision by the agency to adopt bundled billing, which is aimed at making the claims processes more efficient, targeted at reducing delays, and facilitating faster processing of healthcare service bills submitted by service providers .
The virtual engagement encouraged the medical directors and billing officers to maintain regular communication with RIVCHPP officials, particularly whenever they encounter challenges in delivering quality healthcare services to beneficiaries.
The agency assured healthcare providers that RIVCHPP remains committed to meeting its financial obligations to accredited providers, and encouraged the providers to remain more resolute in giving Rivers residents quality healthcare services to justify their accreditation.
In expressing their positions and experiences during the engagement, heads of some accredited private healthcare facilities commended RIVCHPP’s collaborative approach, describing the engagement as an avenue for constructive dialogue and improved understanding between the agency and its healthcare providers.
They expressed their commitment to continuous collaboration with RIVCHPP to address identified gaps, strengthen service delivery, and contribute to improved access to quality healthcare for Rivers residents.
The engagement made it clear that the introduction of bundled billing for healthcare services provided by accredited private healthcare facilities across the state as part of efforts to simplify the payment process and expedite claims payment.
The engagement also provided an opportunity for RIVCHPP management to interact directly with medical directors and billing officers of its accredited private healthcare providers, to clarify programme policies and procedures, and obtain feedback on their experiences and challenges.
