Hon. Tobin.

The Chairman of Okrika Local Government Area, Hon. Akuro Tobin, has announced the resumption of the monthly environmental sanitation exercise across the LGA, effective Saturday, August 1.

He made the announcement following a meeting with the Community Development Committee (CDC) held at the Chairman’s Conference Hall in the Council Secretariat, where he directed all communities in the LGA to fully participate in and comply with the sanitation exercise.

The directive follows a five-day intensive drainage clearance campaign recently carried out across the LGA by the Council’s Flood Control Unit as part of ongoing efforts to mitigate flooding and improve environmental sanitation.

The Chairman emphasized that the monthly sanitation exercise is compulsory, describing it as a critical measure for flood prevention, public health, and the maintenance of a clean and healthy environment.

He warned that any community found wanting in complying with the directive would face appropriate sanctions for non-compliance.

Hon. Tobin further stated that he would personally supervise the sanitation exercise alongside members of his executive to ensure full compliance during the exercise.
