Emohua Local Government Chairman, Hon. Chidi Lloyd, has approved the construction of Omuse Road in Elele-Alimini, including the provision of concrete drainage systems on both sides of the road.

According to the Chairman, the Works Department of the Local Government Council has commenced preliminary assessments of the Omuse Road project, which is expected to be officially flagged off in November as part of activities marking the first anniversary of his second-term administration.

He announced the approval during a stakeholders’ meeting with traditional rulers and other community leaders of Elele-Alimini, held at the palace of the community’s paramount ruler on Wednesday, and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the actualisation of its Greater Emolga Agenda.

The Council Chairman also approved the completion of the Elele-Alimini Primary Healthcare Centre, a project initiated by the Local Government Council.

He directed that the facility be named after his predecessor and illustrious son of the community, Chief Tom Aliezi, under whose administration the project was conceived and commenced.

Reiterating his commitment to the development of Elele-Alimini, Lloyd disclosed that his administration had secured approval for the establishment of the Elele-Alimini Divisional Police Headquarters during his first term.

He added that the construction of the headquarters building was under consideration by the Local Government Council.

The Chairman urged the people of Elele-Alimini to rally behind the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, by mobilising support for candidates endorsed by the Rainbow Coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He stated that aligning with the FCT Minister’s political leadership would help attract more government presence and development projects to the community.

Highlighting his administration’s interventions in Elele-Alimini, listed the installation of a solar power system at the community’s Primary Healthcare Centre, the provision of electricity transformers to some parts of the community, and remedial works on sections of the community road that had deteriorated.

He also pledged to provide additional transformers to other areas experiencing inadequate electricity supply, stressing his administration’s determination to address the community’s infrastructure needs.

Lloyd also expressed appreciation to the people of Elele-Alimini for the contribution of their son, Barr. Peter Ugari, who serves as his Chief of Staff, describing Ugari as a reliable and dependable ally.

The Chairman also commended the Councillor representing Ward 9 (Elele-Alimini) in the Local Government Legislative Council, Hon. Sylvanus Ekweme, for his loyalty and support, particularly during challenging periods.

He praised supporters of the FCT Minister across the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Elele-Alimini for their consistency and loyalty, especially during the recent political crisis in Rivers State.

According to him, the Omuse Road project and other proposed infrastructure initiatives in the community reflect his administration’s commitment to development and its appreciation of the community’s continued support for the political leadership of the FCT Minister.

Earlier, the Paramount Ruler of Elele-Alimini, Eze Peter Wagbara, CP (Rtd.), expressed profound appreciation to the Emohua Local Government Chairman for approving key infrastructure projects for the community.

Eze Wagbara assured the Chairman of the community’s support and commitment to the success of his administration, noting that Elele-Alimini and Akpabu, the Chairman’s community, had maintained a longstanding bond, describing the relationship as that of people from the same family.

The traditional ruler reaffirmed that the people of Elele-Alimini would continue to support the Chairman and offered royal blessings, praying for God’s continued protection, elevation and success in his political career and public service.
