In readiness for the official commencement of operations at the Bonny Fire Station, the Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area (LGA), Hon. Abinye Blessing Pepple, has met with trained fire service technicians to finalize preparations.
The Bonny Fire Station, which is currently undergoing renovation, is close to completion and will soon be ready for full operations.
Hon. Pepple assured that all necessary arrangements are being made to ensure a smooth takeoff, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to strengthening emergency response services across the LGA.
He emphasized the importance of the fire station to the safety and well-being of Bonny people, noting that its establishment will play a crucial role in protecting lives and properties within the area.
As part of ongoing preparations, Hon. Pepple announced that the Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) Limited has approved a one-week retraining programme for previously trained fire service technicians.
The programme aims to refresh their skills and ensure operational readiness once the station becomes fully functional.
The Fire Chief, Adonye C. Allison, expressed gratitude to the Chairman for his support and commitment toward the successful establishment of the Bonny Fire Station.
Hon. Pepple further disclosed that the procurement of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including coveralls, hard hats, safety boots, and other essential gears, is currently underway to adequately equip fire service personnel.
“All arrangements”, he added, “are in top gear to ensure that the Bonny Fire Station becomes fully operational as part of the administration’s first 100 days in office, with the strong backing of the Bonny Local Government Council.”
