Hon. Kingsley Jumbo (Ward 10) has emerged as the Leader of Bonny local government Legislative Council, while Hon. Lawrence Idasoalabo (Ward 12) and Hon. Edwin Benstowe (Ward 4) were elected as Deputy Leader and Chief Whip respectively.
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Leader, Hon. Jumbo, expressed commended the council chairman for his leadership and commitment to advancing legislative governance in Bonny LGA.
He pledged close collaboration between the legislative and executive srms, particularly towards operationalizing the Bonny Fire Station and enacting laws that will enhance development and improve the welfare of constituents.
Earlier, the Chairman of Bonny local government area, Amasenibo Hon. Abinye Pepple, had formally dissolved the 9th Bonny local government Legislative Council and proclaimed the commencement of the 10th session.
During the inaugural session, all twelve duly elected Councilors were sworn into office, and as part of their first legislative functions, they elected their principal officers.
The chairman was accompanied to the event by his Vice Chairman, Hon. Ibinyefagha Renner; Secretary to the Council, Engr. Tamunotonye Jumbo; Chief of Staff, Engr. Soparagha Jumbo; other senior government officials, friends, and well-wishers.
