Rivers State Deputy Governor, Prof. Ngozi Nma Odu, has celebrated Mrs. Pauline Furo Batubo on the occasion of her 80th birthday, describing her life as a clear testimony of God’s grace.

She commended her hospitality and cheerful disposition, observing that she consistently makes guests feel welcome and at ease.
“Aunty Furo is always smiling. She makes everyone feel happy and at home”, she said.
The Deputy Governor acknowledged the health challenges the celebrant has faced, including surgery and cancer, noting that her resilience reflects God’s sustaining grace.
“Reaching the age of 80 is a significant milestone worthy of gratitude to God, especially for Mrs. Batubo, a retired teacher”, the Deputy Governor added.
She encouraged continued thanksgiving and prayer, emphasizing that attaining 80 years is a special grace and that God will continue to do more in her life.
In her testimony, Mrs. Batubo reflected on her childhood experiences and how they shaped her understanding of God’s goodness and provision.
She revealed that her journey in life had included serious health challenges, such as liver, cancer and several surgical operations, noting that there were occasions when her condition became so critical that she almost lost her life and had to receive blood transfusions immediately.
Batubo expressed gratitude to God for seeing her through the difficult moments and allowing her to attain the milestone of 80 years and urged those around her to recognize God’s goodness and remain grateful for His preservation.
Also speaking, the Amanyanabo of Opobo Kingdom, His Majesty King Charles Douglas MacPepple Jaja, Jeki VI, who was represented by the Vice Chairman, Opobo Council of Chiefs, Alabo Godwin Dappa, described the celebrant as a woman of immense value to Opobo Kingdom and beyond.

He noted that, in recognition of her accomplishments, character and selfless service, the Opobo Council of Chiefs considered her worthy of honour and celebration.
In his Sermon drawn from Job 36:11, which promises prosperity and pleasantness to those who obey and serve God, the Chaplain, of the Chapel of Redemption, Dr. Samuel Ebirim, urged Christians to cultivate a lifestyle of thanksgiving, stressing that every achievement and position attained in life is ultimately by the grace and choosing of God.
According to him, thanksgiving should go beyond mere words and be expressed through public worship, open proclamation of God’s goodness, thanksgiving offerings and sacrificial giving.
