Stakeholders in Egbeda Community, Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, have expressed their profound appreciation to the Chairman of the LGA, Hon. Chidi Lloyd, for the provision and installation of solar-powered lighting facilities at the Egbeda Community Health Centre.
The stakeholders described the intervention as timely and people-oriented initiative, noting that the provision of a reliable power source at the health facility will significantly enhance healthcare service delivery, particularly at night and emergency situations.
Receiving the solar installation on behalf of the community leadership, the Chairman of the Egbeda Community Development Committee (CDC), Hon. Harmony Obua, commended the Chairman for his continued commitment to improving the welfare and living conditions of people of the area.
Hon. Obua described the Chairman as a leader who “knows his onions”, stressing that his administration has continued to demonstrate practical understanding of the needs of the people through interventions that directly impact their lives.
In a statement signed on behalf of the stakeholders of Egbeda Community, Hon. Humphrey Didi Assor, stated that the gesture was more than the provision of electricity, describing it as an intervention capable of contributing to the preservation of lives and improving the quality of healthcare services available to residents.
According to the stakeholders, access to adequate lighting at the health centre will provide a safer and more conducive environment for health workers to attend to patients, especially during emergencies and other critical periods.
While commending the Chairman for his continued attention to the developmental needs of communities across Emohua LGA, they also assured him of their commitment to promoting peace, unity and cooperation as essential foundations for sustainable community development.
They also pledged their continued support for the administration of Hon. Lloyd, while calling on the people of Egbeda to sustain their support and cooperation with the Local Government Chairman in his efforts to bring meaningful development closer to the people.
The stakeholders noted that genuine development can only thrive where there is peace, unity and collective responsibility, and urged all residents to continue working together in the interest of Egbeda Community and Emohua Local Government Area.
