Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has lauded the good people of Ogbakiri for the support and cooperation they extended to the contractor handling the Ogbakiri Road.
The Governor made the remark yesterday evening after inspecting the Buguma-Tema-Degema-Abonima Road, which cuts across three Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the Kalabari Kingdom and the Emohua-Ogbakiri-Egbelu Road in Emohua LGA.
“We came in to inspect one of the projects we were on before the State of emergency. This project, for us, is very important because it is one that connects the Ogbakiri people to the East-West Road with ease.

“They understand the importance of this project, which is about them and the government is about the people. So, I am here to assure the good people of Emohua Local Government Area and Ogbakiri in particular, with the chairman here as a witness, you can see that the contractor is back on site and God’s willing, before the end of 2025 this project will be completed”, the Governor assured.
He said his presence during the inspection is to assure the communities that contractors are returning to site to resume work, and their determination is to ensure that the projects are completed in record time
The 19.7km Buguma-Tema-Degema-Abonima Road and the 9.7km Emohua-Ogbakiri-Egbelu Road are signature projects, targeted at connecting the riverine communities of the State to the centre.
