RIVCHPP Engages Medical Directors, Billing Officers To Strengthen Healthcare Delivery

The Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme (RIVCHPP) has intensified its engagement with medical directors and billing officers of accredited private healthcare facilities across the state as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration and improve healthcare service delivery to its enrollees.

Speaking at a monitored virtual engagement meeting held yesterday, the Executive Secretary of RIVCHPP, Dr. Vetty Agala, reiterated the Programme’s commitment to building strong partnerships with private healthcare providers to ensure that residents enrolled under the scheme have access to affordable, quality and efficient healthcare services.

She emphasised the importance of accurate billing and proper documentation in ensuring effective claims management and processing, while also noting that adherence to appropriate billing procedures would help reduce errors, prevent abuse and waste, and promote transparency and accountability in healthcare financing.

The engagement also provided an opportunity for the RIVCHPP management to interact directly with medical directors and billing officers of accredited private health facilities, discuss operational challenges and clarify the Programme’s policies and procedures.

The facility representatives were encouraged to strengthen their internal processes and maintain effective communication with RIVCHPP to ensure that operational challenges are promptly addressed and that enrollees receive improved and uninterrupted healthcare services.

In their contributions, heads of some accredited private healthcare facilities commended RIVCHPP for the strategic engagement and partnership.

They stated their commitment to working closely with the Programme to bridge existing gaps, expand access to quality healthcare and enhance service delivery to residents of Rivers State.
